Founded in 1960 by PM Campbell and his son Ronnie Campbell, Associated Mechanical Erectors (AME) started in a 2000 sq ft building in Rock Hill, SC with 5 employees, focusing on Industrial Equipment Installation and General Metal Fabrication. Their growth began with their first job for Celanese Corporation. In 1963, they expanded with a 5,500 sq ft facility. AME purchased its first hydraulic truck crane in 1968 and ventured into crane rentals under Ronnie Campbell’s guidance.

The 1980s marked further expansion, including acquiring a Crane Rental Company and the transition of leadership from PM Campbell to his sons. In the 1990s, they relocated to Fort Mill, SC, expanded fabrication, and diversified into General Contracting.
In the new millennium, AME achieved record-breaking sales and embraced change under Gregg Campbell’s leadership. Today, AME remains a family-owned business, with Jeff Campbell as President & CEO, guiding the company’s promising future.
