Dr. N. Gaston Quantz Scholarship
Dr. N. Gaston Quantz was a prominent Rock Hill resident, Chairman of the Rock Hill Board of Health, and a general practitioner until 1985. He graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina in 1936; was a graduate of Presbyterian College; and completed his post-graduation internship at Greenville General Hospital from 1937 – 1938. He was a member of the Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church, the South Carolina and York County Medical Associations, the Rock Hill Cotillion Club, the Rock Hill Country Club, and Kappa Alpha fraternity. This scholarship was created to honor his contributions and commitment to the Rock Hill Community.
Critiera:
- Students should have and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better, have a degree of financial need, and be enrolled in a health related field at York Technical College.
