Irysse Crimmins Memorial Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded in memory of Irysse Crimmins, RN, York Tech/USC-L Nursing program graduate (1987). After graduation, Irysse worked as a critical care RN in several area hospitals until 2009, when she was diagnosed with ALS and went on medical leave. Irysse passed away in February 2012 from complications resulting from ALS. She also worked as a volunteer camp nurse at the Oratory Religion Camp every summer for many years. She was very proud of the work she did and encouraged others to pursue a career in Nursing. Her daughter, Lisa, is also a critical care RN at Overlook Hospital in Summit, New Jersey. Irysse would be very proud to help others enter the field of Nursing. Some of her last words were that she was blessed to have a job that she loved and was able to spend time with her family.
