Haile Opportunity Scholarship

The Haile Opportunity Scholarship is intended to support students pursuing an associate degree or certificate in career and technical programs. The award can be used for tuition, books, associated fees, program-required tools, and necessary personal protective equipment per academic year. Eligible programs include; Degree Programs: Automotive Technology, Diesel Engine Performance, General Technology Specialization, General Engineering Technology, Engineering Transfer, General Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Transfer, Industrial Maintenance Technology, Management, Utility Line Worker Specialization, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Welding, General Technology Specialization | Certificate Programs: Basic Electricity Certificate, Basic Welding Certificate, Residential/Commercial Wiring Certificate, Utility Line Worker Certificate

Criteria:

  • The selected recipients must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours;
  • The selected recipients must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in one of above listed the eligible degree or certificate-producing programs;
  • The selected recipients must have a completed FAFSA on file with the College;
  • The selected recipients must remain in good academic and financial standing with the College and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA;
  • The selected recipients must submit a one-page personal statement illustrating the recipients’ personal goals and commitment to education and describe and how the Scholarship will help the recipients achieve their goals and enable them to be productive employees;
  • The recipients must submit a letter of recommendation from a York Technical College, previous high school, or previous college-level institution faculty member, or an employer highlighting the applicant’s achievements, skills, and potential for educational success.
